Jessica, Executive Director
I started working for Animal Friends Humane Society in May 2024. I first started as Community Outreach Coordinator, then moved to Executive Director. Helping animals has always been my passion. Before I started with AFHS I have had many different roles in animal welfare, Adoption Coordinator, Wellness Assessment Center Manager, Barn Cat Coordinator, Surgery Assistant, Vet Assistant, along with many years of doing TNR work to help community cats. As Executive Director, I am be very passionate about my job and I truly want to find ways to make the shelter better for its employees, volunteers, and all of the furry friends. One of the things I love most about AFHS is the outstanding team and amazing volunteers that I work with.
My husband, Rusty, and I are originally from Bowling Green, KY. We have two boys, Austin, and Zander. Before moving to Northern Kentucky, we lived in Tennessee for 14 yrs. In my spare time I care for my cats and 4 dogs along with fostering kittens. I enjoy caring for fosters and helping them find a home. Some other things I enjoy spending time with my family vacationing, boating or just hanging out watching Netflix!
Jennifer, Shelter Manager
As the shelter manager for AFHS, this position allows me to work in a position that combines a passion for animal welfare with a commitment to the community. With nearly 10 years of experience working in a veterinary office, I believe that I bring both knowledge and compassion to this role. I live with my husband and three sons, and we have two dogs, both of whom were adopted from Animal Friends! We also have 3 cats that make the majority of decisions around the house. My love for animals drives my mission to provide safe and loving homes for those in need, and I believe in the power of our community involvement.
Cindy, Administrative Support
I’m our Administrative Support. I started as a kennel tech when we were in Trenton in 2008.
Over the last decade and a half I’ve witnessed the evolution of the organization with many added resources for our community.
Caitlyn, Front Office Lead
My name is Caitlyn and I’m the Front Office Lead. I’ve been with AFHS since 2019 and hope for many years to come. My mission is to educate the public on the importance of spay and neuter, adoption and fostering. My passion is being a voice for the abandoned, abused and homeless animals in our community. When I’m not taking calls and returning emails at the office, I’m taking care of my mini zoo at home. My wife and I have five animals (three dogs and two cats) together, all of which are foster fails. We love to travel and find new places to explore in nature.
Megan, Media and Intake Coordinator
I have been with Animal Friends in an array of different ways in the past 10 years. I've been a volunteer, Kennel Technician, Outreach Coordinator, Dog Warden, and now Media/Intake Coordinator. I share my home with my husband and our cats, Jimmy and Rooster, and our dog Hank (all AFHS alumni)!
Myra, Enrichment Coordinator
I've been with AFHS since 2016. I started as a kennel tech, moved to kennel team lead and now am our Animal Enrichment Coordinator. I am a lifetime Butler County resident. I lived in Middletown for 30 years of my life but now reside in Wayne township with my Husband, step-children and our mini zoo which consists of three dogs (AFHS alumni), chickens, rabbits, mice, a few TNR cats and aquariums of fish. We spend our time being busy with marching band in fall and 4-H in the spring and summer. I've never known my life to be without a furry 4 legged friend to love. I work with a fantastic team people. We all have the same common goals to help our community and to care for the animals that come into your care to the best of our ability.
Kim, Cat Care Coordinator
I have always loved animals and knew I wanted to work with/for them. I started working with AFHS in 2013. While I love all animals, I feel I can do the most work with the cats. Coordinating the kitten foster program, and helping each cat find the appropriate outcome for them is really rewarding. When I'm not at the shelter, I enjoy spending time with animals and family.
